StudentsFirstNY Deputy Executive Director Glen Weiner Reacts to Bill de Blasio and Bill Thompson's support of a moratorium on charter school co-locations

StudentsFirstNY // September 3, 2013

With their continued attacks on quality charter schools, Bill de Blasio and Bill Thompson are telling the tens of thousands of parents looking for a better option for their children that the doors of public school buildings are closed to them.

Today, StudentsFirstNY Deputy Executive Director Glen Weiner released the following statement:

"With their continued attacks on quality charter schools, Bill de Blasio and Bill Thompson are telling the tens of thousands of parents looking for a better option for their children that the doors of public school buildings are closed to them. In trying to score political campaign points, they would undo the progress New York City has made over the last 10 years in offering families quality school options. This won’t help us better prepare a single child for college or career."
