Too many schools across New York are failing our children. While the state continues to lead the nation in education investments, the academic performance of our schools continues to lag far behind. We can and must do better.
That’s why it’s so encouraging that Governor Cuomo has appointed the New York State Education Reform Commission to explore and recommend reforms of our education laws and policies. We need to highlight for the Commission the kinds of meaningful reforms – not just incremental tweaks – necessary to truly elevate the quality of education in the Empire State.
