Tell Leaders: Empower Parents of Children in Failing Schools to Turn Them Around

Too many parents across New York State feel trapped in consistently failing schools, waiting for the system to take action while their children fall farther and farther behind.

But now, a new reform called "parent trigger" is giving parents a voice. Parent trigger empowers parents of students in low-performing schools to petition for real, transformative changes to improve the quality of their child’s education, and the reform has been implemented in several states.
