Parents Discuss the Conversation and the Leaders Involved in Education Reform
On Monday night, StudentsFirstNY hosted a conversation with parents from our Brooklyn and Queens community chapters. The conversation this week included an interactive game that challenged parents to work together to decide which comments and political leaders supported education reform and which ones opposed it.

Last night, StudentsFirstNY hosted a conversation with parent leaders from our Brooklyn and Queens community chapters. The conversation focused on the need for parent leaders to work together and advocate for education reform in their local school districts. Many parents traveled with their children from as far as Canarsie and Jamaica to learn more about the efforts taking place across New York City.

These bureaucratic challenges are significant and far-reaching. Too many of our students suffer under a system that disempowers teachers and principals, frustrates parents, prevents resources from reaching the classroom, and acts as a barrier to student success.
