Deputy Director of Organizing
Asia Thomas has been with StudentsFirstNY since 2013. She joined as a parent organizer and has steadily taken on roles with increased responsibilities. She is currently the deputy director of organizing.
Prior to joining StudentsFirstNY, Asia was a case manager and retention specialist at ResCare Workforce Services' WeCare Program. She also served as a community organizer for New York City's Administration for Children's Service's Community Partnership Program, Abyssinian Development Corporation and ACORN.
Asia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communications from Old Westbury State University of New York. She lives on Staten Island and is the proud parent of a public charter school student.
