Jenny Sedlis transitioned to Senior Advisor in 2021 after having led the organization as Executive Director from 2013 to 2021. Jenny Sedlis came to StudentsFirstNY from the Success Academy Charter Schools, an organization she co-founded in 2006 and grew from 1 to 22 schools in eight years. She has received national recognition for leading the organization's pioneering advocacy and parent organizing work. Ms. Sedlis is the founding board chair of Zeta Charter Schools. Ms. Sedlis started a super PAC supporting Eric Adams for mayor and raised $7M for the effort and in 2021 co-founded Moonshot Strategies, a political and communications consulting firm based in NYC.
