Urge the UFT to Stop Blocking School Choice

The United Federation of Teachers recently filed a lawsuit aimed at blocking school choice. This action is unjust and completely disregards the needs of the most important stakeholders in our school system: students and parents.

Specifically, the UFT’s lawsuit would restrict the NYC Department of Education’s ability to offer space to charter schools, a public school option with such high demand that nearly 53,000 students sit on wait lists. You can find out more here.

This legal action is cause for serious concern, as it seeks to shut out tens of thousands of parents hoping for better schools and better futures for their kids.

Whether you’re a parent, a student, or a supporter of New York City public schools, we ask you to stand with us in calling for an end to this practice of using the legal system to undermine quality school options before it causes irreparable damage to the future of our students and our great city.

Sign the petition, and help ensure NYC kids get a fair shot at an excellent education.
