Chief Advocacy Officer
Crystal McQueen-Taylor comes to StudentsFirstNY as her latest step in improving education opportunities for children. Crystal started her career as a NYC public school teacher before joining TNTP where she led the NYC Teaching Fellows, the largest alternative teacher certification program in the country. Most recently, Crystal served as the Regional Senior Director for Uncommon Schools, a public charter school, where she managed external partnerships, advocacy, parent organizing, and governance.
Crystal graduated from Brown University with honors in Education Studies, and attended Bank Street College of Education for her MS Ed. Crystal lives in Brooklyn with her husband and son, and is a proud public charter school parent.
