Michael joins StudentsFirstNY with an extensive knowledge of politics and media. Most recently, he served as Director of Communications for New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer, where was the Chief communications strategist and managed day-to-day operations of the press office. Previously, he was the Senior Political Producer at NY1, where he helped transform "Inside City Hall" from a local public affairs show into New York City's premier political television program.
Nitzky covered six national party conventions and three mayoral elections for NY1. He was also a news producer and assistant news director for WWTV, a CBS affiliates in Michigan.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University. A native New Yorker, he currently lives in Manhattan with his wife and is the proud parent of two public school school students in New York City.
